Gravel on the Strade Bianche of Tuscany - 5 days
Our first bike-packing trip on our gravel bikes : is there any better destination than Tuscany ? Or how to combine cycling, good food, wine and scenery.
From June 9th to June 15th 2023, we decided that it was high time to hit the road with our gravel bikes and explore Tuscany. Who hasn't heard of the legendary "Strade Bianche", which refer to the white gravel roads found in Tuscany ?!
Well, obviously, me. But Vincent ensures me that this is probably the best destination for gravel bikepacking.
A quick question th chatGPT and this gets sorted out:
Hello ChatGPT, what's the best destination for gravel bikepacking in Europe ?
And the answer is..."Europe offers a wide range of fantastic destinations for gravel bikepacking. Here are a few notable options:
Tuscany, Italy: Tuscany is renowned for its picturesque landscapes, including the iconic Strade Bianche routes. The region offers a mix of challenging gravel roads, stunning scenery, and rich cultural experiences.
...."
Ranked first! And why so ?
Because of their challenging and scenic nature: picturesque landscapes, including vineyards, rolling hills, and rural countryside. Gravel roads, like those found in Strade Bianche, are well-suited for gravel bikes.
Strade Bianche roads can offer a mix of challenging climbs, descents, and technical sections, adding an adventurous element to your bike packing journey.
